He is a Nigerian poet and essayist. He is the author of To Cast a Dream (Jai-Alai Books, 2021) and the winner of Cave Canem’s 2020 Toi Derricotte and Cornelius Eady Chapbook Prize. He is a finalist for the 2023 Bernadine Evaristo Prize for African Poetry, and his full-length manuscript was a finalist for the Inaugural CAAPP Book Prize and the 2020 Sillerman First Book Prize. His poems are published in Poet Lore, Waccamaw, TriQuarterly, McNeese Review, Ruminate, Guernica, and elsewhere. He is currently an MFA candidate at the University of Mississippi.
