Biography

Mesioye Johnson often known by the nickname Affable is a Nigerian poet and emerging literary figure from Ogun State. He studied Banking and Finance at the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, and became known early in his writing career through active participation in Nigerian poetry circles, especially with Words, Rhymes & Rhythm (WRR), where he has frequently been published. Johnson has earned several literary recognitions: he won the Brigitte Poirson Poetry Contest (April 2016) with his poem “I Am Sorry”, was a joint winner of the Green Author Prize (GAP) 2016, and later won the Eriata Oribhabor Poetry Prize in 2017 with the poem “Probability”. His work has also been featured in competitions like the Tony Tokunbo Fernandez International Poetry Competition, highlighting his voice as a thoughtful and expressive young poet within Nigeria’s contemporary literary scene.
