| Biography | John Chizoba Vincent (born 18 May 1990 in Aba, Abia State, Nigeria) is a multifaceted Nigerian creative—an author, poet, screenwriter, cinematographer, and film director whose work spans literature and film. Raised in Aba and later educated in Lagos, he has written essays, poetry, and fiction featured in numerous magazines and anthologies, and has authored several books including Hard Times, Good Mama, Letter from Home, and For Boys of Tomorrow. Vincent’s poems and writings have appeared widely in local and international outlets such as Poemhunter, Poetry Soup, African Writer Magazine, The Guardian, and Vanguard. Beyond writing, he is a creative force in film, directing and producing titles like Don’t Call Us Water and Broda Amos, and he leads initiatives like the Boys Are Not Stones Initiative and Philm Republic Pictures to advocate for expression and social issues through art.
