Good Preaching by Rev Enaefe I. Ichipi

The book title Good Preaching is inspired by a response to the teachings of our Pastor, Bishop Wale Ajayi and the content of this book is a summary of our teachings at our local assembly, CGMi Charis Community.

Good Preaching is a bold reminder in a generation filled with countless voices and teachings that not everything labelled “a message” is the gospel. The author, Ichipi Isaac Enaefe, passionately calls the Church back to the simplicity of the message of Christ: Jesus plus nothing.

The book challenges performance-driven, self-focused preaching and exposes the subtle shift from grace to self-effort that leaves believers tired, condemned, and confused. It insists that any message that does not point you to Christ death, burial, resurrection and His life within us is not the good news.

Through deeply scriptural insights, the book explains what makes a message truly “good”:

• It must reveal Jesus the Christ as the centre theme.
• It must show that the work is finished: nothing more to add.
• It must emphasis that all things are freely given in Christ.- It must establish believers in their identity: Christ in you, the hope of glory.
• It must remind us that the blessing is already within, not something to pay for.
• It must proclaim the simplicity of the gospel and the fullness of forgiveness we have in Him.

The message of this book is summed up in one line: A good message is 100% Jesus plus nothing.
